Our Care reports may cover:

  • Care & occupational therapy
  • Care

Our large team of over 80 occupational therapy experts and some nursing experts are qualified and trained to assess complex care needs. Every consultant specialises in a particular field and we will ensure that those with the relevant expertise are assigned to cases.

Many of our care experts are practicing case managers.

A comprehensive assessment of the claimant will be undertaken, in their own home, hospital or other residence, with report typically provided within 6-8 weeks, often sooner.

A Care report will include:

  • Detailed assessment of the claimant’s condition (pre and post injury)
  • Analysis of the impact of injury on the lives of the claimant and their family, focussing on the difficulties experienced in daily living activities
  • Full range of care needs (past, current and future) and costs (including agency and direct employment, and considering statutory services where appropriate)
  • Case management
  • Domestic activities

In addition to the above, a Care and Occupational Therapy report will include a broad range of heads of claim as appropriate to the case

All heads of claim are robustly reasoned and costed, with required sourcing of evidence, especially related to local care rates.

Our occupational therapy experts and some nurses, are experienced in assessing and costing the full range of care needs up to and including complex 24 hour care packages ensuring regimes are sensible, practical and implementable, taking account of appropriate risk factors. Occupational therapists are uniquely placed to consider care in the context of the environment and incorporating psycho-social and cultural factors.

Comprehensive assessments will involve clinical and functional examination with full consideration of the Claimant’s rights and choices, and pre-morbid lifestyle. Recommendations will take into consideration the relevant legal principles.
