Introduction

I qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 2004. I initially worked in the NHS and primary care trust settings and in 2008 commenced working in the private sector in a community rehabilitation service for a case management company. I have developed my clinical specialism in the area of neurological rehabilitation and, in particular, with clients who have sustained life-changing injuries and have physical limitations, which have resulted in the need for assistive equipment and environmental modifications.

I work with a range of clients with neuro disabilities assessing functional skills and delivering goal-orientated, community-based rehabilitation programs. As part of my clinical work, I support the housing adaptation process and equipment provision for individuals with complex care needs. I have a special interest in working with clients following spinal cord injury. I also work with clients who have cerebral palsy and traumatic brain injury and have complex orthopaedic polytrauma injuries.

I also have extensive knowledge of the litigation process and have been instructed as a care and OT Expert on multiple cases for clients who have sustained a traumatic brain injury and spinal cord injury. I have also completed instructions for above-knee amputees, orthopaedic/polytrauma and limb reconstruction/plastic surgery cases.

I continue to work as an independent occupational therapist providing assessment and community rehabilitation to clients in the East Anglia area. I, therefore, maintain my clinical practice and keep up to date through specialist section forums, events, net working and peer support with other clinicians.

I accept instructions from both claimant and defendant solicitors and insurers. I have undergone formal training in the medico-legal process and am fully aware of my responsibilities under Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) pertaining to expert witnesses.
