BSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy
- General Physical Disability (Adult)
- Loss of Service
- Case Management
I qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 1995 and have, essentially, worked in the field of Physical Disability since. I specialise in neurology and adult general physical disability, including care of the older persons. I have considerable experience in assessing patients / clients in respect of their needs to enable safe discharge into the community addressing home adaptations, equipment, care and rehabilitation.
I joined Somek and Associates in 2007 since when I have written many medico-legal reports following instructions from both Claimant and Defendant Solicitors and Insurers, as well as being instructed on a Single Joint basis. I have undergone training in the medico-legal process and am fully aware of my responsibilities under the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) pertaining to Expert Witnesses.
I am currently an Independent Practitioner and I have been engaged as a freelance expert for Somek and Associates. Since 2010 I have also worked as an associate trainer, training a range of new associates.
