    Introduction

I qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 2001 in Melbourne, Australia, since when I have specialised in the field of neurology and rehabilitation. I have worked in the UK since 2006 and have experience in a variety of settings ranging from acute hospital, specialist inpatient and community-based rehabilitation, vocational rehabilitation and specialist case management. I have chaired a pan-London Neuro Navigators group and was selected to represent Community Rehabilitation for the London Neurosciences Strategic Network, focusing on integration of neurological care and the development of standards. I am currently on the committee for the Vestibular Interdisciplinary Working Group (VIWG) representing occupational therapy in sharing and developing best practice for vestibular rehabilitation. I am now the Director and specialist Neuro-Occupational Therapist in my own private practice.

I have specialist skills in rehabilitation with people who have a range of neurological conditions, with particular experience in working with young adult clientele with complex needs and co-morbidities, who require a particularly sensitive approach to addressing life roles and vocation. I undertake assessment and rehabilitation for cognitive, psychological/neuropsychiatric, behavioural and physical impairments, working both autonomously and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams. I am also skilled in prescription of appropriate adaptive aids and equipment, including specialist wheelchairs, pressure care and technological aids/apps.

I am experienced in critically evaluating clients’ rehabilitation potential and support needs, providing recommendations and establishing goal-focused interventions accordingly. This includes informing and establishing care plans, recruiting and training care teams, and evaluating care packages over time to ensure the appropriate level and type of care. My aim is to empower clients to maximise their independence within their abilities, while establishing the appropriate level and nature of supports to enable them to achieve this.

In addition I also undertake medico legal work for Somek and Associates. I accept instructions from both Claimant and Defendant Solicitors and Insurers. I have undergone formal training in the medico-legal process and am fully aware of my responsibilities under the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) pertaining to Expert Witnesses.
