Introduction

I qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 1996 and I specialised in the field of hand and upper limb therapy, burns rehabilitation and rheumatology, working with both adults and paediatrics. I developed a particular interest in managing complex hand injuries and burns and working closely with individuals to optimise recovery and facilitate a return to independence in their life and work roles. I have extensive knowledge and experience in my specialist fields. I started a hand therapy and scar management private practice in 2001. I left the NHS in 2021 to focus solely on private practice. 

I maintain my knowledge and skills by attending and contributing to local, national and international burn and hand therapy conferences, training updates, meetings, interest groups and attending webinars. 

I accept instructions from both claimant and defendant solicitors and insurers. I have undergone formal training in the medico-legal process and am fully aware of my responsibilities under Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) pertaining to expert witnesses.
