BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy
I qualified as a physiotherapist in 2004 from the University of the West of England. I started my career at North Bristol NHS Trust gaining valuable experience in core rotations. It was evident to me from my first neurology placement as a student that this was the clinical area I would specialise in.
I moved into working in neurology specialist posts in 2008. Since then I have gained experience of working with adults from the acute stages of brain injury, through to end of life care. I have worked in acute, rehabilitation and community settings as part of a multi-disciplinary and multi-agency approach.
I established my own independent practice in 2014 and offer specialist physiotherapy for all neurological presentations. I have developed strong local links and offer hydrotherapy, work, clinic or home assessments. Alongside my private practice I also work in community rehabilitation in the NHS. In this role I provide consultation and support to my colleagues in managing complex neurological conditions, as well as delivering teaching and supervision.
I am confident in the assessment and treatment of both acquired and progressive neurological presentations including but not limited to stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal injury, multiple sclerosis, motor neurone disease, and neuro-muscular conditions. I have skills in managing posture and seating, spasticity and splinting, and establishing 24-hour guidance for optimising physical health.
I accept instructions from both claimant and defendant solicitors and insurers. I have undergone formal training in the medico-legal process and am fully aware of my responsibilities under Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) pertaining to expert witnesses.
