Introduction

I have been a registered nurse since 2007. I graduated in Poland with a BSc Nursing in 2007, and an MSc Nursing in 2014. I have worked in the emergency care setting throughout my career. In 2012 my reputation and skills were recognised by the Medical Director of Carnival Cruise Lines who offered me a position working on their cruise ships, which I did for 4 years, being quickly promoted to a Lead Nurse. I moved to the UK in 2016 and worked in an A&E department.

Since 2018 I have worked in forensic settings in police custody. This role includes assessment of fitness to detain, fitness to interview, fitness to release, emergency treatment of acute situations, mental health assessment, managing medication while in custody and safeguarding.  Recently I have completed female forensic examination training, which makes me one of a handful in the country able to do this for the company I work for.

I also undertake shifts in Urgent Treatment Centres and the Emergency Department to ensure I keep up with up to date practices, guidelines and skills gained in my previous roles. In these roles, I triage adult and paediatric patients presenting with minor illness and injuries, using the Manchester Triage and remove stitches, dress wounds, venepuncture, cannulation, medication management and assist senior staff. When undertaking night shifts I am the sole nurse in charge, along with a physician.

Between 2020-2024 I worked for primary care as a practice nurse and developed a broad of experience working with patients with chronic diseases, providing vaccinations to adults, children and babies and undertaking family planning services and cervical screening with mentor/assessor training.

I accept instructions from both claimant and defendant solicitors and insurers. I have undergone formal training in the medico-legal process and am fully aware of my responsibilities under Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) pertaining to expert witnesses.
