MSc Neurological Rehabilitation, BSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy
I qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 2009 from the University of Plymouth and Exeter University. I began my career working in the field of Paediatrics, where I have worked since qualifying and developed an interest in the challenges of working with children with neurological and complex physical and medical needs.
I have wide ranging expertise in the field of paediatrics regarding holistic assessment and interventions, and effective working with children and their families in complex and challenging situations. My clinical skills are supported by my experiences in research, service development and role as a neurological service lead.
After several years working in Paediatrics in community and school settings, in 2012 I joined the leading UK Oncology Hospital - The Royal Marsden, working in the children and young people’s team, delivering everything from complex discharge planning to palliative care and post operative rehabilitation.
In 2013, I took a year’s sabbatical to study for an MSc in Neurological Rehabilitation, specialising in neuro-oncology, disability (as a concept), cerebral palsy and childhood hemiplegia. I graduated with a distinction and my research was presented at the European Academy of Childhood Disability.
More recently, I have worked in the community in a specialist neurology role, leading service development, management and education for the service’s neurological caseload. I also held a general caseload providing assessment, intervention and treatment to children with any concerns - from handwriting difficulties to profound and multiple learning difficulties.
My current clinical position is in the Acute Neurology team at Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital.
I accept instruction from both claimant and defendant solicitors and insurers. I have undergone formal training in the medico-legal process and am fully aware of my responsibilities under Civil procedure Rules (CPR) pertaining to expert witnesses.
