I qualified as an OT in 1999 and since then I have gained experience in a variety of clinical settings working with both adults and older people. This includes elderly care, falls, oncology, respiratory conditions, general medicine and surgery and with bariatric patients.
I have worked extensively rehabilitating patients, as well as identifying support for those living with permanent disabilities. I have comprehensive skills in assessing the manual handling requirements of less able clients and those with mobility impairments.
As well as carrying complex clinical caseloads, I have worked in both hospital and community settings and in addition, I have gained significant leadership and management experience. In a number of roles I have acted as the professional lead OT, providing advice and guidance for less experienced therapists and supporting service development.
I am highly experienced in assessing for and prescribing a variety of smaller and larger assistive devices in order to restore/maintain service user's independence. I have also been involved in designing and overseeing major adaptation work including flush floor showers and modified extensions to properties.
I accept instructions from both claimant and defendant solicitors and insurers. I have undergone formal training in the medico-legal process and am fully aware of my responsibilities under Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) pertaining to expert witnesses.
