BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy, PG Dip Orthopaedic Medicine & Injection Therapy
I qualified in 2001 with a BSc (hons) in Physiotherapy from the University of Hertfordshire. I have subsequently gained extensive experience in a wide range of physiotherapy specialisms.
My broad range of skills have been developed over multiple locations including trauma and elective orthopaedic wards, A&E, and outpatient physiotherapy settings including Hull Royal Infirmary which offered experience in the more serious cases. I have also worked within rehabilitation units, community settings, GP clinics and private physiotherapy clinics.
I decided to specialise in musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions in 2004, working within the NHS until 2012 when I made the move into private MSK practice. I spent several years working in private practice before setting up my own business in 2017. I now run a clinic in Skipton, North Yorkshire and have taken on 2 associates.
Throughout my career I have I liaised with medical teams involved with a person’s care when necessary and this currently involves GPs, Consultants and local MSK services. I also undertake ad hoc responsibilities related to service delivery or performance management.
I have completed a postgraduate diploma in orthopaedic medicine and injection therapy with the Society of Orthopaedic Medicine
(SOMM) and am qualified in the use of acupuncture for pain relief via the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (AACP). I also completed a diploma in Sports massage.
I am proactive in keeping up-to-date with professional development in accordance with the requirements of the CSP and HCPC.
I accept instructions from both claimant and defendant solicitors and insurers. I have undergone formal training in the medico-legal process and am fully aware of my responsibilities under Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) pertaining to expert witnesses.
