Introduction

I qualified in 2001 with a BSc (hons) in Physiotherapy from the University of Hertfordshire. I subsequently gained extensive experience in a wide range of physiotherapy areas before specialising in musculoskeletal conditions.

My broad range of skills have been developed over multiple locations including trauma and elective orthopaedic wards, general surgery, neurosurgery, neurology, A&E, and outpatient physiotherapy settings including working at Hull Royal Infirmary which offered experience in the more serious cases. I have also worked within rehabilitation units, community settings, GP clinics and private physiotherapy clinics.

I specialised in musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions in 2004, working within the NHS until 2012 when I made the move into private MSK practice. I spent several years working in private practice before setting up my own business in 2017. I now run a clinic near Skipton, North Yorkshire and have taken on an associate.

I have completed a postgraduate diploma in orthopaedic medicine and injection therapy with the Society of Musculoskeletal Medicine (SOMM) and am qualified in the use of acupuncture for pain relief via the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (AACP).

The vast majority of my work is the assessment and treatment of patients with musculoskeletal conditions of traumatic or insidious onset. I also provide rehabilitation for patients after accidents or surgery. This can be delivered either in clinic or in the patient’s own home. I specialise in both spinal and peripheral conditions.

I am proactive in keeping up-to-date with professional development in accordance with the requirements of the CSP and HCPC. I work with my associate and other local physiotherapists to ensure ongoing personal and professional development.

I accept instructions from both claimant and defendant solicitors and insurers. I have undergone formal training in the medico-legal process and am fully aware of my responsibilities under Civil procedure Rules (CPR) pertaining to expert witnesses.
