Dip Nursing, V300 Nurse Prescriber, MSc Advanced Nursing Practice, Dip Fertility & Fertility Control, Dip
I qualified as a Registered Nurse in 2000, obtained a BSc (Hons) in clinical practice (specialist practitioner award) and V300 independent and supplementary prescribing qualification in 2004, and an MSc in Advanced Practice in 2009.
On qualifying, I initially worked in renal medicine in an acute setting, but moved into primary care to develop my skills. I worked in general practice as a practice nurse carrying out treatment room duties and then worked as a nurse practitioner in general practice on completion of the BSc. In 2008, I moved into the community, firstly as a community matron providing complex case management for patients in their own homes, and then into clinical leadership roles, both as clinical lead for case management and intermediate care co-ordinator. I have also worked as a specialist nurse for Quality and Safety. I am currently working as a primary care Multi - Disciplinary Team facilitator, where I hold a clinical caseload. I work as an advanced practitioner with patients with long-term conditions and those with complex health and social care needs as a clinical case manager with a view to preventing unnecessary hospital admissions.
I accept instructions from both Claimant and Defendant Solicitors and Insurers. I have undergone formal training in the medico-legal process and am fully aware of my responsibilities under the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) pertaining to Expert Witnesses.
