Community Practitioner Nurse Prescribing, BSc Hons Specialist Community Public Health Nursing, Emergency
I qualified in 1989 as a registered general nurse, initially working as a staff nurse on an orthopaedic trauma ward before specialising in Accident and Emergency nursing. Since 2002, after more than 10 years’ as a senior nursing sister and Emergency Nurse Practitioner, I have worked in NHS management and service development. My management experience is in both acute and community services and across a range of NHS services.
I now specialise in short-term healthcare projects and am currently providing interim quality and nursing leadership to an independent healthcare provider for their urgent care centres, minor injury unit services and GP practices.
My clinical role remains important and I continue to work as a Locum Emergency Nurse Practitioner within an NHS Walk-in Centre.
I am motivated by challenge and can perform well under pressure, either as part of a team or on my own initiative. I am a good communicator, and listener, and can interrogate complex information to produce high level discussion or written reports. I am passionate about enhancing the patient experience through governance, strong people management, teaching and standard setting.
I accept instructions from both Claimant and Defendant Solicitors and Insurers. I have undergone formal training in the medico-legal process and am fully aware of my responsibilities under the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) pertaining to Expert Witnesses.
