I qualified in 1989 as a registered general nurse. My first staff nurse post was on an orthopaedic trauma ward caring for patients who had sustained fractures as a result of accidents or assaults. This experience laid the foundations for my continued career progression and led to me spending over 10 years as an Accident and Emergency Nurse. After becoming a Senior Sister I completed an autonomous nurse practitioner course in 1995. Although I now undertake a number of managerial roles, my clinical role remains important and I continue to work as an Emergency Nurse Practitioner within an NHS Walk-in Centre.

I specialise in results-driven short-term primary care contracts, currently working as an interim manager with a Clinical Commissioning Group within their Continuing Healthcare Team. I have worked at executive level; most recently for an independent healthcare provider where my portfolio of services included oversight of two Urgent Care Centres co-located within a London NHS Foundation Trust, a community Minor Injury Unit and two GP practices. In partnership with the clinical staff I was responsible for ensuring all clinical services within my portfolio could demonstrate robust evidence of good clinical care, meeting both internal and regulatory scrutiny.

From 2012 I spent two years as Head of Primary Care in Holloway Prison. Our aim was to ensure safe processes and to redesign the primary care model of services around the needs of the patient; to prevent disadvantage due to circumstance and ensure equity of services with the wider community. This included a GP type practice delivering all elements of medical and nursing primary care, an out-of-hours service providing 24-hour emergency nursing response and other bespoke services such as women's health services and health screening services for public health diseases including TB and Hepatitis. We established integrated primary care pathways linking them with substance misuse and mental health pathways. This was recognised in a positive inspection report from the Inspectorate of Prisons and the Care Quality Commission. I continue to work with the Head of Healthcare on a locum project basis when required.

Other previous key roles include: Interim Head of Clinical Governance, General Manager for Children and Families, Interim Complaints Manager, Project Manager Walk-in centre development, Acute Trust Clinical Site Manager.

I accept instructions from both Claimant and Defendant Solicitors and Insurers. I have undergone formal training in the medico-legal process and am fully aware of my responsibilities under the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) pertaining to Expert Witnesses.
