I qualified as a Registered General Nurse in 1998. I spent the next four years working in a variety of clinical areas including elderly care, general medicine and medical specialities, gastroenterology and coronary care.  Since 2002 I have specialised in cardiology undertaking roles at Band 7 in research and as a Cardiac Specialist Nurse.  I also undertook a secondment to a lecturer role at the University of the West of England.  Most recently I have been working as a Band 8 Cardiology Matron responsible for cardiology inpatients areas including a coronary care unit, cardiac catheter laboratories and a cardiac stepdown ward. In this role I was responsible for maintain quality and safety along with effective delivery of services and clinical leadership. I am an independent nurse prescriber and hold a qualification in advanced practice including clinical examination skills and diagnostic reasoning. 

In my current role as Operational Services Manager I am accountable for quality, staff, finance and performance of the cardiology business unit. Along with ensuring patients receive high quality, evidence based compassionate care. I am also responsible for ensuring that staff are supported and developed to deliver high quality care in accordance with the Trust’s values. I line manager senior nursing staffing in including Ward Mangers, Clinical Service Leads and Clinical Matron’s.

I am currently a Clinical Reviewer for several journals including the British Journal of Cardiac Nursing and European Journal of Cardiovascular Nursing. I have also written a number of papers in my field for a variety of journals. 

I accept instructions from both Claimant and Defendant Solicitors and Insurers. I have undergone formal training in the medico-legal process and am fully aware of my responsibilities under the Civil Procedure Rules ( CPR) pertaining to Expert Witnesses.
