Introduction

I am an experienced, dual-registered adult and child nurse with a strong foundation in complex clinical care, staff development, and educational leadership, qualified since 2015. My current position as a Practice Development Nurse (PDN) at Kings College Hospital NHS Trust has honed my ability to evaluate clinical standards, provide expert insights into policy and protocol adherence, and enhance staff competency. Alongside my educational and leadership duties, I maintain direct involvement in patient care by supporting clinical teams during busy periods, working clinically when needed, supporting new starters in practice, and providing hands-on support during complex or high-acuity cases to ensure the safe delivery of care, helping me remain grounded in frontline clinical practice.

My key qualifications and relevant experience includes:

• Clinical expertise in complex paediatric care, including direct experience providing bedside care to paediatric and neonatal patients with respiratory, haematological, and oncological conditions, including the management of central lines and co-ordination with multidisciplinary teams. My work in complex cases, such as cystic fibrosis, prepares me to offer expert perspectives on adherence to standards and practice in these areas.
• Policy and practice evaluation: I have an extensive background in reviewing, updating, and implementing nursing policies and evidence-based practices.
• Training and competency assessment: I have a proven track record in organising training sessions, developing competency assessments, and guiding staff through reflective practice. These skills enable me to evaluate and convey insights on clinician skills and adherence to protocols.
• Mentorship and supervision: I have experience supervising junior staff and providing guidance in high-stakes, complex situations.

I am fluent in Tagalog (Filipino) and Ilokano (Filipino native language).
