Introduction

I qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 1997 from St. Martin’s College in Lancaster. Since qualifying, I have had the opportunity to work across health, education, social care and within the private sector.

Specific skills gained from the position held with Warrington include knowledge of the major adaptation process with local councils (to include the disabled facilities grant and reading architectural plans), knowledge and understanding of being able to source a range of bespoke and standard equipment. I have experience and am skilled in seating and posture management, assessing and providing supportive static seats to children in their own home and in school.

In 2012, I joined the child development team in Wrexham, North Wales as I wanted to explore a different area of paediatrics. I was able to enhance my skills in seating and positioning, working closely with the physiotherapy team. I gained skills in handwriting assessments, delivery and analysis of standardised assessments, devising and implementing creative programmes that supported a child’s developmental skills to further develop their skills in activities of daily living, such as eating, dressing and handwriting.

I have worked as an Associate Brain Injury Case Manager since 2017 and have gained experience of supporting families through the litigation process. I am passionate about case management and providing the best service possible, empowering my clients and their families. I have a wide experience of recruitment and costing for care. My caseload is largely made up of clients with a complex and catastrophic injury. I have clients that are both pre and post litigation, so have a good understanding of the processes and involvement of professionals on both sides of litigation.

I accept instructions from both claimant and defendant solicitors and insurers. I have undergone formal training in the medico-legal process and am fully aware of my responsibilities under Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) pertaining to expert witnesses.
