Registered Nurse

MSc Pain Management, PGC, DipHE, MSc Advanced Nursing Practice

  • Oncology including Chemotherapy & Radiotherapy
  • Pain Management
  • Nurse Prescriber

I qualified as a registered nurse in 2000, and post qualifying I worked in critical care & post anaesthetic care units. Since 2005, I have specialised in oncology & supportive care services as an advanced practitioner. This includes clinical experience in acute hospital, outpatient, community and hospice environments.

My current post is working in a combined role in an acute neurosurgical unit as an advanced practitioner, surgically managing elective & emergency inpatient admissions with primary and secondary brain tumours. The second part of my role is working in an oncology satellite unit as an advanced practitioner managing patients who are receiving radiotherapy and chemotherapy with curative intent through to palliative treatment including patients with breast, prostate, penile, bowel, lung, bone & brain malignant disease.

I have undertaken clinical leadership roles that have included managing the community gold standard framework register for patients in the last year of life and as a lead nurse for a pain & supportive care service within a large oncology teaching hospital.

I am always striving for high quality patient care and I have a keen interest in clinical governance. In 2015 I was appointed as a clinical assessor in pain, palliative and end of life care for the Care Quality Commission.

I accept instructions from both claimant and defendant solicitors and insurers. I have undergone formal training in the medico-legal process and am fully aware of my responsibilities under Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) pertaining to expert witnesses.
