    Introduction

Qualifying as an Occupational Therapist in 2005, I have worked primarily in neurological rehabilitation and physical disability. My initial experience working as an occupational therapist was in a private rehabilitation unit for adults with acquired brain injuries, where I developed skills in physical, cognitive and behavioural rehabilitation.

I have since held a variety of occupational therapy roles in the NHS and Local Authority and in private practice. These roles have allowed me to gain significant clinical experience working with people post surgery (elective and trauma orthopaedic, cardiac and amputations), people who have experienced life changing injuries (acquired brain injury, spinal cord injury) and those with long term conditions. I have also worked as a specialist neurological occupational therapist for a private neurological rehabilitation provider.

My most recent NHS post was as a clinical adviser providing county wide support to case-holding clinicians in the management of complex cases. Having left working in the NHS in 2018, I continue to work in clinical practice. I have worked as a Case Manager since 2018. In this role I assess for and set up, co-ordinate, and manage care packages and rehabilitation for clients with brain injuries who have complex needs including those who require 24-hour care (and double up 24-hour care).

In addition to my case management work, I work as an occupational therapist for Hampshire County Council which I have done on a locum basis since 2019.

I also undertake medico-legal work for Somek and Associates. I accept instructions from both Claimant and Defendant Solicitors and Insurers, as well as single joint instructions. I have undergone formal training in the medico-legal process and am fully aware of my responsibilities under the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) pertaining to Expert Witnesses. I have attended Court on a number of occasions and have given evidence in Court as an Expert Witness.

I am experienced completing face to face assessments across the United Kingdom and abroad, including with a translator. I have experience costing care and therapy abroad including in Poland, Germany and the Netherlands.
