Yvonne Darlington, Registered Nurse

Professional Experience

I qualified as an adult nurse in April 2014 and have developed a broad clinical background across acute, community, and emergency care settings. I began my career at a large city teaching hospital, working in the Clinical Decisions Unit for six years, where I progressed to the role of Sister. My responsibilities included DVT assessments, clinical audits, staff teaching, and operational management.

Following this, I worked as a community-based frailty practitioner, delivering in-home assessments and interventions aimed at maintaining patient independence and reducing hospital admissions.

In 2021, I transitioned to the emergency department as a trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP). This role involves autonomous clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and the use of point-of-care ultrasound to support decision-making in a high-acuity environment.

I currently work as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner in a Resuscitation Team.

Professional Development

I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Assessment from the University of Leeds and an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice. These qualifications have supported my progression into advanced roles and enhanced my ability to deliver complex patient care. I have consistently sought opportunities to expand my clinical competencies and contribute to service improvement through education, audit, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
