Professional Experience

I qualified as a Registered General Nurse in 2006. My early career focused on contraception and sexual health services, followed by six years as a Community Matron (2011–2017), where I managed complex sexual health and contraceptive patients in the community setting. In 2017, I transitioned into general practice as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP), responsible for managing a personal caseload, conducting minor illness clinics, undertaking clinical assessments, diagnosing and treating patients, and evaluating care outcomes. My responsibilities also included home visits, telephone triage, and prescribing within my scope as an Independent Nurse Prescriber. I have a particular interest in contraception and sexual health and have run Long-Acting Reversible Contraceptive (LARC) clinics and women's health and menopause.

Currently, I work as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) at Whitehall Medical Practice. In addition to my previous ANP duties, I initiate contraception and hormone replacement therapy (HRT), fit contraceptive implants and intrauterine devices, manage mental health conditions across all age groups, and perform minor surgical procedures. I also have experience managing the National Chlamydia Screening Programme, integrating it into sexual health services and supporting service redesign following a successful tender process.

In addition to my ACP role, I am qualified in aesthetics and provide a range of treatments including botulinum toxin (including for hyperhidrosis), dermal fillers, non surgical cosmetic procedures, where I use a plasma pen to remove skin tags, warts and verrucas, hay fever injections, mesotherapy, plasma and fat-dissolving injections, weight loss injections (Wegovy), and B12 injections. These services are primarily offered to professional women experiencing menopause-related symptoms.

Professional Development

In 2022, I completed an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice, qualifying as an ACP. This has enabled me to work at an advanced level across clinical, leadership, and strategic domains. I have a strong interest in service development and change management, and have contributed to both operational and strategic improvements within primary care and sexual health services. My experience includes working with commissioners, supporting tender processes, and implementing new service models. I continue to develop my clinical and managerial skills through ongoing professional learning and multidisciplinary collaboration.
