Professional Experience

I qualified as a UK Registered Nurse in 2007 and have since worked for a major NHS acute and community healthcare provider. My clinical background includes experience across acute medical and admissions wards, community nursing, and specialist leg ulcer clinics. In 2011, I took up the role as a Tissue Viability Nurse (TVN), advising on complex wound care across primary and secondary care, and in care home settings.

My work focuses on the prevention and management of pressure ulcers and complex wounds. I am experienced in managing hard-to-heal wounds and leg ulcers, using advanced wound care technologies and performing sharp wound debridement. I routinely collaborate with diabetic foot teams, dermatology, vascular, plastics, and burns services. Between November 2022 and October 2023, I led an outpatient department and the leg ulcer service, overseeing the implementation of the National Wound Care Strategy for lower limb care across the organisation. As a tissue viability nurse, I have provide care to patients of all ages, including neonatal and paediatric patients.

Professional Development

I completed postgraduate training at Master's level at the University of Bradford, gaining specialist knowledge in pressure ulcer and leg ulcer management. This has enhanced my ability to assess and manage complex cases. I have also undertaken formal training in adult safeguarding and serious incident investigation, which I regularly conduct as part of my current role. My practice is informed by up-to-date clinical guidelines and multi-agency working. I maintain my clinical professional development by attending relevant training.

I speak both Bulgarian and Russian, which supports communication in linguistically diverse cases when required.

Medico Legal Experience

In 2019, I joined Somek and Associates as a medico-legal expert. I accept instructions from both claimant and defendant solicitors and insurers. I have undergone formal training in the medico-legal process and am fully aware of my responsibilities under Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) pertaining to expert witnesses. I am trained in both quantum and liability cases.
