Professional Experience
I qualified as a Midwife in 2013 and transitioned into Neonatal Care in 2014. Within 18 months, I completed both the foundation and intensive care neonatal nursing courses and was appointed NICU Sister in 2016. This role involved clinical leadership and operational oversight of a busy neonatal unit, including coordination with medical teams and external hospitals within the Neonatal Network to facilitate safe and timely patient transfers. I currently work as a Sister on a Neonatal unit.
Professional Development
I hold a Master of Public Health, awarded in 2022. My dissertation involved a primary research study on Group B Streptococcus (GBS) education among healthcare professionals. This included literature review, ethical approval, study design, data collection, analysis, and presentation of findings. I have delivered specialist teaching on gastro-oesophageal reflux disorder (GORD) during in-house study days and developed educational materials for both clinical staff and parents. I remain actively involved in professional development through regular attendance at Neonatal Network study sessions.
Medico Legal Experience
I accept instructions from both claimant and defendant solicitors and insurers. I have undergone formal training in the medico-legal process and am fully aware of my responsibilities under Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) pertaining to expert witnesses.
