Tina Moore, Registered Nurse
Professional Experience
I qualified as a General Nurse in 1983 and have worked extensively in surgical, orthopaedic, and intensive care settings. In 1985, I transitioned into clinical education, later becoming a lecturer in nursing at both college and university levels. Since 2013, I have held a part-time clinical role with NHS 111 Integrated Urgent Care Services, alongside my academic responsibilities. This dual engagement has enabled me to maintain clinical currency while contributing to the education of future practitioners.
My role within NHS 111 has sharpened my assessment and decision-making skills, particularly in telephone triage, where clinical decisions must be made without visual cues. I am proficient in using clinical pathways and protocols to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes.
I currently lead the Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) programme at the university, focusing on high-level clinical reasoning and decision-making. My teaching is primarily at the Master’s level, where I support students in developing advanced critical thinking and practice-based competencies.
Professional Development
Throughout my career, I have consistently updated my professional knowledge in line with Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) requirements. I am currently undertaking a PhD and actively contribute to national ACP development through membership in the Advanced Clinical Practice group. I serve as an external examiner and assessor for ACP programmes across institutions, ensuring quality assurance and academic integrity. As Panel Chair for university validation events, I work with internal and external partners to uphold academic standards. I also provide detailed, impartial feedback on academic work and have authored reports at institutional and external levels. In 2023, I successfully secured NHS England accreditation for the ACP programme.
Medico Legal Experience
I accept instructions from both claimant and defendant solicitors and insurers. I have undergone formal training in the medico-legal process and am fully aware of my responsibilities under Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) pertaining to expert witnesses.
