Professional Experience
I qualified in 2002 as an occupational therapist and completed a masters in occupational therapy in 2013.
I have extensive experience of working in the areas of neurology, physical and developmental disability including brain injury, spinal injury, multiple injuries following trauma, orthopaedics, medical rehabilitation, autism spectrum disorder, Down's syndrome, cerebral palsy and developmental delay. I have expertise providing occupational therapy to clients who have complex past medical histories and co-morbidities. This includes providing detailed assessment and intervention to achieve goals in activities of daily living, physical function, cognition, fatigue management, vocational rehabilitation, minor adaptations, mobility, transfers, moving and handling, and recommending specialist equipment.
I have worked with children and adults in the NHS and private sector. Currently I am working in independent practice, and I established Dedoro Ltd in 2021. I provide occupational therapy services to clients with neurological, physical and developmental challenges. I work collaboratively with other health care professionals, schools, case managers, care managers, solicitors and other services.
I also have experience working in community brain injury, inpatient physical rehabilitation, stroke rehabilitation, elderly medical rehabilitation, intermediate care and day hospitals.
Professional Development
I maintain my professional development and HCPC standards by attending relevant training.
