Professional Experience

Since qualifying as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 2014, I have specialised in musculoskeletal (MSK) practice and progressed to an Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner role in 2020. My clinical expertise spans orthopaedics—including spinal, upper, and lower limb conditions—rheumatology, chronic pain, and rehabilitation. I also have extensive experience in First Contact Physiotherapy, managing undifferentiated presentations and initiating appropriate investigations and treatment plans.

In my current assessment and triage role, I am responsible for organising diagnostic investigations including imaging, neurophysiological studies, and blood tests. I coordinate treatment pathways and refer patients to appropriate services, working closely with a multidisciplinary team comprising Physiotherapists, Podiatrists, Orthopaedic Consultants, Radiologists, and GPs.
I am a qualified injection therapist and have delivered corticosteroid injections for a wide range of MSK conditions. For complex cases, I refer patients directly to Radiology departments for image-guided procedures.

I also lead several clinical pathways within my department, including cervical myelopathy, fibromyalgia, bone health, and fragility fractures. Previously, I contributed to the development of pathways for cauda equina syndrome and chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS).

Professional Development

My role involves regular peer supervision and participation in ‘lessons learned’ reviews, particularly in cases involving diagnostic delays or errors. These sessions support continuous improvement in clinical reasoning and risk management. I also engage in weekly supervision with fellow Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioners to discuss complex cases and maintain high clinical standards.
As a designated Research Champion within my trust, I am responsible for promoting research engagement and training within the MSK Clinical Assessment and Triage Service (CATS) team. This includes ensuring clinical practice aligns with national guidelines and current evidence-based literature. My leadership in pathway development and research ensures that service delivery remains clinically robust and legally defensible.
I maintain my professional development and HCPC standards by attending relevant training.

Medico Legal Experience

I accept instructions from both claimant and defendant solicitors and insurers. I have undergone formal training in the medico-legal process and am fully aware of my responsibilities under Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) pertaining to expert witnesses.
