Sara Stenti, Registered Midwife
Professional Experience
I qualified with a Bachelor Degree in Midwifery in 2010 from the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Rome "Tor Vergata," with a focus on predictive factors for caesarean sections and operative births. Following a clinical internship in Rome, I relocated to the UK in 2011 and have since gained extensive experience in both NHS and private maternity care settings.
I currently hold a Band 7 role as a labour ward coordinator, where I lead multidisciplinary teams in managing obstetric emergencies including shoulder dystocia, postpartum haemorrhage, eclampsia, vaginal breech deliveries, and cord prolapse. I am proficient in interpreting cardiotocography (CTG) and conducting foetal surveillance, particularly in high-risk scenarios. My practice is grounded in evidence-based care and clinical leadership, with a strong emphasis on safety, timely intervention, and adherence to national guidelines. My scope of practice also includes perinatal psychological support and breastfeeding assistance, contributing to comprehensive maternal and neonatal care.
Professional Development
I maintain a strong commitment to clinical excellence through ongoing professional development. I have completed advanced training in maternal medicine, obstetric emergencies, sepsis management, biomechanics of birth, and neonatal resuscitation. As a qualified Practice Assessor, I support the education and supervision of student midwives and junior staff, ensuring competence in core clinical skills and regulatory compliance. I regularly update my knowledge to remain aligned with current standards and best practices in maternity services.
Medico Legal Experience
I accept instructions from both claimant and defendant solicitors and insurers. I have undergone formal training in the medico-legal process and am fully aware of my responsibilities under Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) pertaining to expert witnesses.
