Professional Experience

I began my career in healthcare as a Sports Therapist, focusing on injury management. In 2016, I joined the ambulance service as an Emergency Medical Technician, gaining frontline experience in managing a wide range of injuries and medical conditions. Following completion of the technician course, I undertook paramedic training and qualified as a registered paramedic in 2018.

In 2021, I transitioned to a Band 7 role as a Validation Paramedic within the Emergency Operations Control Centre, joining the newly established Clinical Validation Team (CVT). This role was introduced to manage increased demand post-Covid and has since been adopted nationally under various titles, including Clinical Assessment Team (CAT) and Clinical Support Desk (CSD). My responsibilities include clinical telephone triage of category 3 and 4 calls, and selected category 2 calls, to determine appropriate care pathways and reduce unnecessary ambulance dispatch. I also provide clinical advice for the NHS 111 service.

I provide clinical support to frontline crews and continue to undertake frontline shifts on a bank basis. My dual role in both frontline and remote clinical settings ensures a comprehensive and current understanding of paramedic practice and operational procedures.

Professional Development

In 2020, I completed a BSc in Pre-Hospital Emergency Care. I maintain current clinical competence through regular professional development, including annual mandatory training and clinical updates. Since 2023, I have undertaken clinical auditing responsibilities, ensuring familiarity with current national and local policies and procedures. My training and practice cover key areas relevant to pre-hospital care, including Advanced Life Support, Major Trauma, Emergency Medicine, Minor Injury and Illness, paediatrics, obstetric emergencies, and medicines management.

Medico Legal Experience

I accept instructions from both claimant and defendant solicitors and insurers. I have undergone formal training in the medico-legal process and am fully aware of my responsibilities under Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) pertaining to expert witnesses.
I also undertake fitness to practice instructions following FTP training.
