Professional Experience

I qualified as a Mental Health Nurse in 2014, specialising in adult mental health. My clinical background spans inpatient, community, and emergency settings. I began as a staff nurse on acute psychiatric wards and was promoted to Clinical Practice Lead, where I managed multiple acute wards and a Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). In this role, I acted as Duty Senior Nurse and Bed Manager, overseeing legal admissions under the Mental Health Act, managing risk assessments, medication administration, and nursing reviews.

In 2016, I transitioned to community mental health services, supporting patients with severe and enduring mental illness and comorbidities.

Since 2022, I have worked in psychiatric liaison within emergency departments across London. This involves assessing patients in acute mental health crisis—often following incidents of self-harm, suicide attempts, or substance misuse—and formulating risk assessments and discharge plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. I also review patients transferred from psychiatric hospitals who require mental health input alongside physical health care.

I continue to maintain frontline clinical skills through bank shifts on psychiatric wards and by supporting depot injection clinics in the community.

Professional Development

My experience across varied settings has strengthened my understanding of clinical standards, legal frameworks, and risk management in mental health care. I maintain my professional development by attending relevant training.

Medico Legal Experience

I accept instructions from both claimant and defendant solicitors and insurers. I have undergone formal training in the medico-legal process and am fully aware of my responsibilities under Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) pertaining to expert witnesses.
