Professional Experience

Since graduating from the University of Leeds in 2002 with a Diploma of Higher Education in Adult Nursing, I began my career in general surgery before specialising in Intensive Care. During a six year period as a critical care nurse, I developed expertise in managing critically unwell patients, this lead to a transition into an advanced practice role. I subsequently held the role of Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) within a large NHS teaching hospital, working in the hospital at night and out-of-hours services. This role involved rapid assessment and management of deteriorating patients, advanced life support, and acting as Duty Matron, overseeing operational delivery and clinical safety across the hospital during night shifts.

In 2017, I transitioned into primary care, where I continue to work both autonomously as an ANP and collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team. My responsibilities include advanced assessment and management of patients ages two upwards presenting with a wide range of both acute and chronic clinical presentations often with complex health care needs. I conduct home visits assessing patients in both private residences and care home settings, this often involves palliative and end-of-life care, and providing holistic, evidence-based treatment plans. My role demands advanced clinical reasoning, diagnostic skills, and the ability to make independent decisions under pressure.

In addition to my NHS role, I own and operate a small aesthetics business offering non-surgical cosmetic treatments. These include microneedling, chemical peels, skin boosters, polynucleotides, dermal fillers, and botulinum toxin injections. I provide detailed consultations, personalised treatment plans, and follow-up care, ensuring safe and ethical practice in line with current clinical standards.

Professional Development

I hold a Bachelor of Science (BSc) Honours degree in Acute Healthcare and a Master of Science (MSc) in Advanced Practice. These qualifications underpin my clinical expertise and support my ability to work at an advanced level across both primary and secondary care settings. I undertake regular professional development in both my NHS and aesthetics roles, ensuring my practice remains current, safe, and aligned with evolving clinical guidelines and regulatory standards.

Medico Legal Experience

I accept instructions from both claimant and defendant solicitors and insurers. I have undergone formal training in the medico-legal process and am fully aware of my responsibilities under Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) pertaining to expert witnesses.
