Professional Experience
I currently work as a Frailty Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) in the community, delivering hospital-level care in patients’ homes with the aim of preventing avoidable hospital admissions. This role involves autonomous assessment, investigation, diagnosis, and management planning, with a strong emphasis on clinical safety and patient-centred care.
Since qualifying as a Registered Adult Nurse in 2015, I have developed broad clinical experience across hospital wards, urgent treatment centres, accident and emergency departments, and community settings. My clinical background includes orthopaedics, vascular surgery, minor injuries and illness, and frailty. I have held senior positions, including Sister on a surgical/vascular ward and Emergency Nurse Practitioner (ENP) in an Urgent Treatment Centre, both requiring advanced clinical judgement and the ability to manage high-pressure environments and complex caseloads.
I continue to work shifts in Urgent Treatment Centres. In this role, I assess patients aged two and above presenting with minor illnesses and injuries. My responsibilities include conducting physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests (such as point-of-care D-Dimer and CRP), referring for imaging, and using clinical findings to inform diagnosis, treatment, and onward referral decisions. I completed a Master of Science in Advanced Clinical Practice, which included modules in non-medical prescribing and advanced practical skills. This qualification enables me to work independently across both hospital and community settings, assessing patients, formulating differential diagnoses, and prescribing treatment where appropriate.
Professional Development
I have consistently pursued further education to enhance my clinical expertise. Most recently, I completed a Master of Science in Advanced Clinical Practice, which included modules in non-medical prescribing and advanced practical skills. This qualification enables me to work independently across both hospital and community settings, assessing patients, formulating differential diagnoses, and prescribing treatment where appropriate.
My academic and clinical training has equipped me with the competencies required to deliver high-quality care autonomously, including advanced physical assessment, clinical reasoning, and evidence-based decision-making. I remain committed to ongoing professional development and regularly engage with current clinical guidelines and best practice standards.
Medico Legal Experience
I accept instructions from both claimant and defendant solicitors and insurers. I have undergone formal training in the medico-legal process and am fully aware of my responsibilities under Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) pertaining to expert witnesses.
