Professional Experience

I qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 2011 and have gained specialist experience in mental and physical health conditions. In particular, I have extensive experience in the assessment and treatment of chronic fatigue, chronic pain, anxiety, grief, stress, depression, pain, and addiction. I also have experience of working with individuals with complex and chronic mental health issues such as; emotional trauma, bipolar, schizophrenia, personality disorder, depression and eating disorders. I have worked in senior positions supporting individuals in acute inpatient care back to their lives in the community.

I work as an Occupational Therapy Care Manager within a Local Authority. I manage a complex and varied caseload of adults presenting with a range of orthopaedic, neurological, and psychological conditions, including Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) and Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS).

I have extensive experience in the assessment, coordination, and monitoring of complex care and rehabilitation packages, encompassing both the clinical and funding aspects of care provision. This includes identifying individual needs, sourcing appropriate care providers, commissioning services, and ensuring safe and effective delivery through a range of statutory and personal funding mechanisms, including Self-Directed Support (SDS).

I also have significant experience in the specification and project management of large-scale housing adaptations, working closely with architects, contractors, and funding bodies to ensure that environmental solutions meet assessed functional needs and statutory requirements.

As a qualified Pilates and Yoga Instructor, I have an advanced understanding of movement analysis, biomechanics, and functional anatomy. This enables me to integrate therapeutic movement and meaningful activity into my occupational therapy practice, supporting clients to optimise their physical performance, manage fatigue, and participate more effectively in daily life.

Professional Development

I maintain my professional development and HCPC standards by attending relevant training.
I guest lecture at several universities on their occupational therapy programmes.
I developed and enhanced my treatment skills by attending Dr Sue Pemberton’s Masterclass, Assessing and Treating Fatigue: Skills and strategies for Occupational Therapy Practice, which has enabled me to develop and deliver person centred treatment/rehabilitation programmes in a one-to-one setting as well as group settings.

Medico Legal Experience

I accept instructions from both claimant and defendant solicitors and insurers. I have undergone formal training in the medico-legal process and am fully aware of my responsibilities under Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) pertaining to expert witnesses.
