Professional Experience

I qualified as a Registered Nurse in 2003 and have specialised in emergency and urgent care throughout my clinical career. I have worked across multiple NHS Trusts in London, Surrey, Berkshire, and Lincolnshire, gaining broad experience in accident and emergency departments. In 2009, I qualified as an Emergency Nurse Practitioner and subsequently as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP). My ANP role involves autonomous clinical decision-making, including history taking, physical examination, diagnosis, treatment, and referral of both adult and paediatric patients presenting with minor injuries and illnesses. Since 2017, I have worked as a locum across various unscheduled care settings, including walk-in centres, urgent care centres, minor injury units, GP streaming services, and out-of-hours clinics. I continue to undertake regular clinical shifts to maintain current practice and credibility. During the COVID pandemic, I trained to be a COVID vaccinator, and worked at my local mass vaccination centre.

Professional Development

I completed my independent prescribing qualification in 2014 and was awarded a distinction in my Master’s degree in Advanced Clinical Practice in 2019. I remain committed to ongoing professional development through formal training, clinical updates, and engagement with current evidence-based practice. I have published articles in the Emergency Nurse Journal, Expert Witness Journal, and presented at the Royal College of Physicians in 2018 to an audience of medical negligence solicitors. I have also contributed to national service development, including the rollout of the Community Pharmacy Consultation Service, where I trained pharmacists in clinical history taking and examination skills to support safe patient triage and management.

Medico Legal Experience

I am currently Deputy Lead for Quality Assurance and Training (Liability) at Somek and Associates. My role includes oversight of training and mentoring for new expert witnesses, ensuring consistency and quality in report writing and medico-legal analysis. I also contribute to recruitment, client engagement, and internal process development.

I accept instructions from both claimant and defendant solicitors and insurers. I have undergone formal training in the medico-legal process and am fully aware of my responsibilities under Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) pertaining to expert witnesses.
