Professional Experience

I qualified as a Registered Nurse in 2004 and currently work as a Vascular Nurse Specialist Practitioner within an arterial unit in West Yorkshire. My clinical focus is the diagnosis and management of vascular conditions within a multidisciplinary team. I have specialised in wound care since 2006, initially leading a leg ulcer clinic and later establishing and managing a Tissue Viability Nursing team in a busy acute hospital setting.

My expertise includes the assessment and management of complex wounds, particularly those involving mixed aetiologies such as venous ulceration complicated by arterial disease and heart failure. I have extensive experience in pressure ulcer prevention, advanced wound therapies, and wound debridement, including hydrosurgical techniques. I am regularly involved in supporting surgical teams with debridement procedures and contribute to clinical decision-making in complex wound cases.

Professional Development

My academic training includes both undergraduate and postgraduate education, with a focus on advanced clinical assessment, wound care, leg ulcer management, and pressure ulcer prevention. I have completed Masters-level training in wound debridement, which includes hydrosurgical techniques.

I have attended numerous national and international conferences and have been invited to participate in expert panels to advise on wound care products and therapies. My work has been published in several peer-reviewed journals, primarily addressing wound assessment and management strategies. These contributions reflect a commitment to evidence-based practice and ongoing professional development in the field of vascular and wound care.

Medico Legal Experience

I accept instructions from both claimant and defendant solicitors and insurers. I have undergone formal training in the medico-legal process and am fully aware of my responsibilities under Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) pertaining to expert witnesses.
