Professional Experience

I qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 2009, initially specialising in adult physical disabilities. My experience spans trauma and orthopaedics, general surgery and medicine, A&E, major adaptations, community rehabilitation, and crisis intervention. This breadth enables me to complete holistic assessments that consider both functional and environmental impacts on daily life. I later developed a specialist interest in neurorehabilitation, particularly stroke, progressing to Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist within NHS stroke services, where I managed complex cases, co-ordinated with social care, and contributed to long-term support planning and service development.

Currently, I work in a dual role as a Vocational and Rehabilitation Case Manager and Clinical Support Manager. I co-ordinate comprehensive rehabilitation programmes for adults following catastrophic injury, completing immediate needs assessments (INA) and supporting clients to achieve individual goals, including return to work through vocational rehabilitation. I liaise with private medical and allied health professionals to maximise recovery outcomes and produce clear, objective reports documenting clients needs and progress. In my clinical support capacity, I contribute to governance and audit processes, assist with recruitment and coaching for a UK-wide occupational therapy network, and support clinical triage to ensure referrals are allocated appropriately.

Additionally, I work as an independent occupational therapist for a well-established company, supporting clients with diverse medical conditions and rehabilitation needs. This combined experience strengthens my ability to provide impartial, evidence-based assessments and recommendations tailored to individual recovery and vocational goals.

Professional Development

I maintain my professional development and HCPC standards through a proactive approach that includes attending specialist training and workshops, engaging with current research and evidence-based practice, and contributing to audits and service evaluations to drive quality improvement. I regularly reflect on my learning and clinical experiences to identify areas for growth and ensure that new knowledge is applied effectively to deliver safe, person-centred care.

Medico Legal Experience

I accept instructions from both claimant and defendant solicitors and insurers. I have undergone formal training in the medico-legal process and am fully aware of my responsibilities under Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) pertaining to expert witnesses.
