Professional Experience
I joined the NHS in 2008, beginning my career with East of England Ambulance Service. I qualified as a paramedic in 2012 and progressed to specialist paramedic in urgent care in 2017. Although I left my full-time role in 2018, I maintained a bank contract until 2023, allowing me to continue frontline paramedic work. I have extensive experience managing time-critical and urgent presentations across trauma, medical, and paediatric cases.
Following my transition from the ambulance service, I began working as an emergency practitioner in an urgent treatment centre, where I developed advanced skills in minor injury management. While competent across all areas, I have a particular interest in fracture dislocation manipulation and wound closure. In 2023, I was appointed as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) in a London UTC, where I continue to practise. In this role, I assess, treat, prescribe for, and refer patients presenting with undifferentiated illness and injury across the lifespan.
Professional Development
Alongside full-time clinical work, I completed an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice, which included qualification as an independent non-medical prescriber. I am currently a mentor and trainer, supporting the development of advanced practitioners from various disciplines. This aspect of my role ensures I remain current with evidence-based practice and clinical guidelines.
Medico Legal Experience
I accept instructions from both claimant and defendant solicitors and insurers. I have undergone formal training in the medico-legal process and am fully aware of my responsibilities under Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) pertaining to expert witnesses.
