Professional Experience

I qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 2013 and have specialised in adult social care, working with adults who have long term conditions or disabilities. My work has focused on promoting independence of people in their own homes by providing equipment, adaptations and care recommendations.

I now work predominately as an independent occupational therapist and case manager. I have a range of clients through my case management work including those with brain injuries and complex poly trauma. I have experience of working closely with solicitors and instructing a range of professionals to ensure my clients have the correct support in order to maximise their recovery and quality of life. I am currently working on both settled and unsettled cases as an associate for Stanley Smith Case Management.

I am also a qualified manual handling trainer and work as a guest lecturer at the University of Plymouth.

My role in adult social care and private practice has been extremely varied and I am confident and experienced in cases involving adults with a range of disabilities as a result of injury or long term conditions including but not exclusive to MS, Parkinson's, dementia, COPD, orthopaedic conditions such as arthritis and people who have experienced a stroke or life changing events resulting in reduced mobility, for example amputees and people who have sustained spinal injuries.

Professional Development

I have an MSc in Advanced Professional Practice and a Post Graduate level teaching qualification (PgCAP). I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

I maintain my professional development and HCPC standards by attending relevant training.

Medico Legal Experience

I accept instructions from both claimant and defendant solicitors and insurers. I have undergone formal training in the medico-legal process and am fully aware of my responsibilities under Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) pertaining to expert witnesses.
