Professional Experience
Currently, I am Director of JP MEDASSIST LTD, a company providing locum Advanced Clinical Practitioners to primary care. I also work clinically as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) and independent prescriber in general practice, where I continue to support staff development and service improvement. Additionally, I serve as the Clinical Lead for domestic violence in North Wales, delivering IRIS training to primary care clinicians.
I qualified as a Registered General Nurse in 2009 and have since built a diverse clinical career across both primary and secondary care. My experience spans advanced, palliative, and fundamental care, with specialist roles in critical care, emergency medicine, long-term invasive ventilation, and spinal injuries. I have held senior clinical positions, including ANP roles in both hospital and community settings.
In secondary care, I led a team of ANPs responsible for managing deteriorating patients across hospital wards, ensuring timely interventions for life-threatening conditions. I developed and delivered training for multidisciplinary teams on acute care management, contributing to a Welsh Health Board award for improving patient safety. I later led a specialist team supporting patients with spinal cord injuries, facilitating complex discharges and 24-hour care packages in the community. This work earned me recognition as a Dignity Ambassador.
Professional Development
Throughout my career, I have maintained a strong focus on clinical leadership, education, and service development. I have designed and implemented training programs for both primary and secondary care professionals, with a particular emphasis on acute care, patient safety, and clinical governance.
In general practice, I previously held the role of research lead, where I supported the practice in achieving Level 2 research affiliation. This recognition placed the practice among the top 10 in Wales for research engagement. I continue to act as a research facilitator and mentor for clinical staff, offering both formal and informal teaching.
My consultancy work includes advising GP surgeries on clinical delivery, workforce development, and policy implementation. I am regularly invited to assess service models and identify areas for improvement, drawing on my extensive frontline and leadership experience.
Medico Legal Experience
I accept instructions from both claimant and defendant solicitors and insurers. I have undergone formal training in the medico-legal process and am fully aware of my responsibilities under Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) pertaining to expert witnesses.
