Professional Experience
I qualified as a Registered General Nurse (Adult) in 2001 with a BSc (Hons) in European Nursing Studies. My early career included roles in both acute and community settings. In 2010, I completed a postgraduate diploma to become a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (Health Visitor), followed by a Master’s in Public Health in 2015. I have extensive experience working with complex families across universal services and multi-agency child protection. My clinical expertise includes child health and development, managing conditions such as speech and language delay, feeding difficulties, emotional distress, special educational needs, disabilities, and complex medical conditions.
From 2016 to 2019, I held a Band 8a Clinical Lead role for Health Visiting in an inner London borough. I led service delivery in safeguarding, special educational needs, disability, and audit, managing a team of 27 staff. I was responsible for service audits, policy development, incident reviews, complaints management, risk assessments, and clinical standards monitoring. More recently, I have worked in vaccination and immunisation, including school-based programmes and leading mass vaccination centres during the COVID-19 response. I continue to practise as a bank Health Visitor and provide consultancy for targeted health visiting projects.
Professional Development
I have held senior leadership roles across clinical and strategic settings, including policy development, training, and performance oversight. I sit as a panel member for the Nursing and Midwifery Council’s Fitness to Practise hearings, gaining insight into regulatory standards and the application of the NMC Code. I also serve as a Specialist Member for the HM Courts and Tribunal Service in the Special Educational Needs and Disability Tribunal, where I apply my expertise in child health and development to support decision-making. Both roles require critical analysis of complex evidence, including clinical records and professional reports. I maintain my professional development by attending relevant training.
Medico Legal Experience
I accept instructions from both claimant and defendant solicitors and insurers. I have undergone formal training in the medico-legal process and am fully aware of my responsibilities under Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) pertaining to expert witnesses.
