Professional Experience
I graduated as an Occupational Therapist in 2003 in South Africa and have over 20 years' clinical expertise, specialising in neurorehabilitation and complex care pathways. My professional background spans acute and community settings, with particular emphasis on stroke, neurological conditions, and functional rehabilitation.
I am currently the Clinical Director for the Surrey Heartlands and Frimley Integrated Stroke Delivery Network (ISDN), and Head of Service for stroke, neurorehabilitation and dietetics at Surrey Downs Health and Care. My role encompasses service development, operational leadership, and direct clinical oversight. I have a proven track record in the assessment and management of complex neurological cases, often involving co-ordination with social care, discharge to assess (D2A) pathways, and long-term support planning. I lead multidisciplinary teams across the entire care continuum.
Throughout my career, I have maintained a clinical caseload alongside my leadership responsibilities and have extensive experience producing high-quality, detailed functional assessments. I am committed to delivering impartial assessments that accurately reflect clients’ needs and potential for rehabilitation, ensuring fair representation and supporting outcomes that enhance independence and quality of life. These assessments inform complex care decisions and are well-aligned with the analytical and objective standards required in medico-legal reporting.
Professional Development
I hold postgraduate qualifications including an MSc in Neurorehabilitation and an MSc in Healthcare Leadership, underpinning my evidence-based and person-centred approach.
I maintain my professional development and HCPC standards by attending relevant training.
Medico Legal Experience
I accept instructions from both claimant and defendant solicitors and insurers. I have undergone formal training in the medico-legal process and am fully aware of my responsibilities under Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) pertaining to expert witnesses.
