Professional Experience
I qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 2004 and specialised in the field of women's health/ pelvic health physiotherapy after two years. I have gained considerable clinical experience in this field working within the NHS and private sector. I have worked at some of the UK's leading hospitals; including Manchester and London Trusts. I currently work as a bladder and bowel continence specialist based in Gloucestershire.
I treat female patients with urinary incontinence (stress/urge/mixed), pelvic organ prolapse, birth injury (perineal tear/trauma and 3rd/4th degree perineal tears, post surgical symptoms of pelvic mesh complications, faecal/flatal incontinence, chronic constipation (including transanal irrigation), bladder/bowel symptoms secondary to spinal cord injury, core weakness and sexual dysfunction secondary to pelvic injury/trauma.
I have a vast knowledge base and experience within the fields of obstetrics, gynaecology, urogynaecology, urology and colorectal. I pride myself in being able to support patients in an empathetic and respectful way recognising that for some patients discussing personal symptoms can feel embarrassing.
Professional Development
I maintain my skills by attending regular clinical training/updates and part of my current role is to deliver training to other clinicians and students. I also maintain my professional development and HCPC standards by attending relevant training.
Medico Legal Experience
I accept instructions from both claimant and defendant solicitors and insurers. I have undergone formal training in the medico-legal process and am fully aware of my responsibilities under Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) pertaining to expert witnesses.
