Professional Experience
I am a senior mental health clinician with over 20 years of experience across a broad range of clinical and forensic settings. My core expertise lies in Adult and CAMHS crisis services, where I lead on triage, risk assessment, and urgent care planning. I conduct face-to-face assessments in both community and hospital settings, including post–self-harm presentations, and ensure appropriate care pathways are implemented. I work closely with multidisciplinary teams, emergency services, and third-sector organisations to deliver coordinated care and safeguarding interventions.
My clinical background includes work in inpatient psychiatry, residential care, supported living, A&E liaison, early intervention in psychosis, assertive outreach, eating disorders, Defence Community Mental Health Services (DCMHs), prisons, forensic services, and Psychiatric Intensive Care Units.
I maintain clinical competence through regular practice in adult liaison psychiatry, prison mental health, and acute psychiatric wards. I have extensive experience managing complex cases involving autism, ADHD, substance misuse, domestic abuse, psychosis, trauma, and neurodevelopmental disorders. I deliver evidence-based interventions including CBT, DBT, Compassion-Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.
Professional Development
I hold an MBA in Management and Leadership and have completed the World Class Management Programme. I am a qualified Best Interest Assessor and Capacity Liberty Assessor. I serve as a Designated Safeguarding Lead, Safeguarding Pool Trainer, and Safeguarding Skills Supervisor. In these roles, I lead on safeguarding strategy, staff supervision, and compliance with statutory frameworks. I contribute to workforce development through training and supervision, and I provide expert guidance on mental health legislation, risk management, and clinical governance. To maintain my professional development I attend relevant training.
Medico Legal Experience
I accept instructions from both claimant and defendant solicitors and insurers. I have undergone formal training in the medico-legal process and am fully aware of my responsibilities under Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) pertaining to expert witnesses.
