Professional Experience

I qualified as a dietitian in 2005 from Glasgow Caledonian University and have worked extensively across the NHS and in private practice. In my NHS role, I am Clinical Lead Dietitian for Surgery and Critical Care, supporting adults with complex nutritional needs following serious illness or injury. In private practice, I specialise in the dietetic management of gastroenterological conditions. I am also a qualified supplementary non-medical prescriber.

In my role as Clinical Lead in the NHS, I have worked across all adult medical and surgical specialities. I have extensive experience in critical care, surgery (including bariatric complications), as well as care of the elderly, stroke, neurology and acquired brain injury, renal, cancer and palliative care. I am part of multidisciplinary teams and play a key role in complex case management. My clinical experience in the NHS also includes the management of complex oral, enteral and parenteral nutrition support. I am highly skilled in patient-centred assessment, developing bespoke care plans, and advising on longer-term management, including therapeutic needs and discharge planning.

In March 2025, I embarked on a planned 12-month career break to focus on my private practice and pursue further professional development. During this time, I plan to complete my postgraduate training in clinical hypnotherapy, with a focus on gut-directed hypnotherapy for disorders of gut-brain interaction (DGBI), such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). This will enhance my ability to offer evidence based, integrative, patient-centred care that supports both the physical and emotional aspects of living with chronic gastrointestinal conditions.

Professional Development

I remain committed to delivering evidence-based practice and ongoing professional development. I maintain my professional development and HCPC standards by attending relevant training.

Medico Legal Experience

I accept instructions from both Claimant and Defendant Solicitors and Insurers. I have undergone formal training in the medico-legal process and am fully aware of my responsibilities under the Civil Procedures Rules (CPR) pertaining to Expert Witnesses. I am trained in both quantum and liability cases.
