Professional Experience

I qualified as a Registered Nurse in 2005 and have worked primarily in hospital settings, initially on surgical wards and later in a general intensive care unit (ITU). I completed the critical care course and progressed to the role of Deputy Sister, regularly managing shifts and overseeing patient care. In 2014, I began working part-time as a Specialist Nurse in Multiple Sclerosis (MS), leading infusion-based treatments and supporting patients with complex neurological conditions. I currently hold dual roles as a Practice Nurse and Advanced Practitioner within the Neurology Department, where I perform lumbar punctures and manage a range of acute and chronic conditions. I continue to work ad hoc shifts in critical care to maintain clinical competence.

I am a qualified non-medical prescriber and regularly prescribe for conditions such as urinary tract infections, respiratory illnesses, and contraceptive management. My clinical skills include ventilation, tracheostomy care, invasive line management, cannulation, phlebotomy, wound care, and risk assessments for falls and pressure injuries.

In my Practice Nurse role, I conduct cervical smears, administer vaccinations, and perform gynaecological procedures including cervical polypectomies and provide wound care and asthma management.
