Professional Experience
I qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 2012 and have extensive experience working in NHS community, acute and social services settings. Since 2017, I have gained a wealth of experience in neurology and continue to work with clients presenting with brain injuries and long term neurological deficits. I have also worked with clients with a variety of clinical conditions, which affects them both physically and cognitively.
My most recent experience is within the community via multiple private therapy companies, providing specialist therapy to patients with strokes, traumatic and brain injuries and conditions pertaining to the nervous system. I provide detailed neurological assessment and develop treatment plans for clients with cognitive and sensory impairments, upper limb impairments and limitations in function.
I developed the therapy programme on the inpatient intensive care unit and provided regular clinical training to junior staff to support their clinical upskilling to treat complex patients.
I maintain this experience with monthly bank work at a neurology rehabilitation inpatient unit and complete relevant training.
Professional Development
I maintain my professional development and HCPC standards by attending relevant training.
Medico Legal Experience
I accept instructions from both claimant and defendant solicitors and insurers. I have undergone formal training in the medico-legal process and am fully aware of my responsibilities under Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) pertaining to expert witnesses.
