Professional Experience

I am a Band 6 clinical midwife, registered with the NMC since 2011, with over a decade of experience in acute hospital maternity services. My experience spans all core areas of maternity care, including Day Assessment Unit (DAU), Maternity Triage, Delivery Suite, and antenatal/postnatal wards.

I currently hold a core position in Maternity Triage, where I am responsible for the assessment and management of women presenting with labour or antenatal/postnatal complications. This role requires timely clinical decision-making, risk assessment, and escalation in line with national and local guidelines.

Professional Development

From 2016 to 2023, I was a facilitator for PROMPT (Practical Obstetric Multi-Professional Training) within my trust, delivering structured emergency obstetric training to multidisciplinary teams. This required a high level of clinical competence and familiarity with current national guidance. In 2020, I completed the Managing Maternal Critical Care module at MSc level through the University of the West of England. This enhanced my ability to manage complex clinical scenarios and demonstrated leadership in critical care decision-making. I am a member of the Royal College of Midwives and maintain current knowledge of evidence-based clinical practice.

Medico Legal Experience

I accept instructions from both claimant and defendant solicitors and insurers. I have undergone formal training in the medico-legal process and am fully aware of my responsibilities under Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) pertaining to expert witnesses.
