Professional Experience
I qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 2014. I have worked with individuals that have had a loss of mobility and function due to trauma inclusive of amputee and multiple injuries, spinal cord injury, neurological conditions including multiple sclerosis, stroke, motor neurone disease, Huntington’s disease and elderly care, all of which have given the ability to establish complex long term therapeutic intervention, equipment and care requirements. I have gained experience in learning disability enablement, disabled housing, continuing healthcare and community rehabilitation.
I currently hold a clinical caseload focusing on the above conditions along with a varied physical disability caseload from both early stage physical diagnosis to significant debilitating health and end of life care. I have a plethora of knowledge and experience within care provision, moving and handling, and specialist equipment provision. I currently also oversee the disabled facility grant implementation within the city in which I work therefore, my knowledge of major adaptations is extensive. I am a empathetic and passionate occupational therapist and have a goal to ensure the best outcomes are achieved. My current caseload includes both children and adults and I undertake long term case management within my social services role.
Within my experience in the community I spent time as the sole lead within residential and nursing care units supporting discharge from hospital and long term placements. In order to do this I provided in depth complex care assessments to enable adults to return home with enhanced care provision to meet their social, leisure and personal needs. This position enabled me to excel in complex needs based assessments, report writing and complex clinical decision making.
