Professional Experience
I graduated as an Occupational Therapist in 2011. Since then, I have worked in diverse settings, from rural villages in South Africa, to working within the NHS and private sector in London. I have extensive knowledge working with adults in the areas of trauma & orthopaedics, general medicine & surgery, and neurology (stroke, brain injuries).
I also have specialist expertise in upper limb rehabilitation, having supported clients with complex presentations such as Erb’s palsy, brachial plexus injuries, nerve injuries and post-surgical recovery. This has included the assessment and rehabilitation of functional movement, splinting, pain management, and the development of tailored intervention programmes to optimise independence.
In 2023, I moved into self-employment, working as a private clinical specialist occupational therapist, as well as a case manager. In my role as a case manager, I am client centred and work collaboratively with the client, their families, stake holders and health services to co-ordinate services, manage care packages and communicate effectively to meet the clients needs and ensure the best possible outcome. My passion lies within the area of neurology, and this led me to furthering my studies within a master’s programme in Neurological Rehabilitation.
I have developed a unique skills set, that are transferrable to many circumstances. I work proactively, co-ordinating with professionals and services to ensure the most effective outcome for my clients.
Professional Development
I maintain my professional development and HCPC standards by attending relevant training.
Medico Legal Experience
I accept instructions from both claimant and defendant solicitors and insurers. I have undergone formal training in the medico-legal process and am fully aware of my responsibilities under Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) pertaining to expert witnesses.
