Daniela Neri, Registered Midwife
Professional Experience
I qualified as a midwife in 2013 and have since worked in one of the UK’s largest maternity units, gaining comprehensive experience across antenatal, postnatal, and intrapartum care. My role has included both low-risk care in the birthing centre and high-risk care on the main delivery suite. I also worked within the trust’s continuity of care team, delivering community-based antenatal and postnatal care, parent education, and intrapartum care for a defined caseload.
I manage all areas of maternity care with confidence and routinely lead clinical shifts, overseeing staff and coordinating workloads to ensure safe and effective service delivery. My understanding of clinical guidelines and policies is comprehensive, and I am experienced in responding to obstetric emergencies and supporting infant feeding. My clinical skill set includes cannulation, venepuncture, perineal suturing, and intravenous drug administration. In addition, I am trained in NIPE examinations and presentation scanning. I also mentor student midwives and support newly qualified staff, contributing to their development and integration into clinical practice.
Professional Development
I have served as an RCM workplace steward, representing staff in discussions with management and HR. This role involved resolving workplace concerns during a period of departmental restructuring and wider changes in UK maternity services. My ability to communicate effectively and advocate for staff has contributed to improved working conditions and service delivery. I maintain my professional development by attending relevant training.
Medico Legal Experience
I accept instructions from both claimant and defendant solicitors and insurers. I have undergone formal training in the medico-legal process and am fully aware of my responsibilities under Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) pertaining to expert witnesses.
