Professional Experience
I began my career as a frontline paramedic and have since progressed into my current role as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner within a Primary Care GP surgery. This journey has provided me with extensive experience across both urgent and routine care, combining acute emergency management with long-term condition support.
I am highly skilled in patient assessment using the medical model, including primary and secondary evaluations and detailed history taking to support robust clinical decision-making. I am proficient in the evaluation of a wide range of physiological systems—respiratory, cardiovascular, neurological, gastrointestinal, musculoskeletal, urinary, ENT, and paediatrics—across both emergency and primary care contexts.
My background includes significant experience in managing acute medical emergencies such as diabetes-related crises, seizures, cardiac arrest, myocardial infarction, and stroke. I am able to make rapid, evidence-based decisions under pressure and have undertaken trauma care training to support the management of complex injuries. Competence in ECG interpretation enables early recognition of cardiac abnormalities and timely intervention. I am confident in managing undifferentiated presentations across all age groups in both urgent and routine primary care settings. In addition, I am experienced in delivering minor surgical procedures and joint injections, enhancing access to high-quality interventions within the community and reducing secondary care referrals.
As a qualified non-medical prescriber, I am proficient in safe prescribing and medicines management within my professional scope of practice.
Professional Development
My clinical practice is underpinned by continuous professional development, with skills advanced through both practical experience and formal training. Prescribing qualifications, ongoing clinical updates, and postgraduate study ensure that my practice remains aligned with the latest evidence, national guidelines, and emerging healthcare priorities.
I am currently pursuing a PhD in heart failure and lifestyle medicine, with research focusing on improving outcomes and supporting innovation in primary care pathways.
Medico Legal Experience
Alongside clinical practice, I have established a portfolio as an expert witness, accepting instructions from both claimant and defendant solicitors and insurers. I have undertaken formal training in medico-legal practice and understand the duties and responsibilities required under the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) for expert witnesses. My reports are prepared to a high standard, with impartiality and clarity, to assist the court in reaching informed conclusions.
