Professional Experience

I qualified as a midwife in 2003 and have since gained extensive experience across all areas of maternity care, including antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal services as well as specialist responsibilities, such as bereavement care (2010-2013).

In 2018, I was appointed Labour Ward Manager and Co-ordinator, where I led clinical teams through obstetric emergencies, collaborated with obstetricians, and made time-critical decisions to ensure safe outcomes. This role strengthened my expertise in managing complex clinical situations in high pressure environments.

Since 2021, I have worked as Maternity Workforce Matron at a University Hospital. This position involves strategic oversight of recruitment and retention, workforce planning, and operational management of maternity staffing. I continue to maintain active clinical involvement across the unit and regularly undertake additional shifts in the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal areas. I am proficient in CTG interpretation and contribute to clinical decision-making where required.

Since 2025 I have worked as the Antenatal Clinic Matron, in addition to Maternity Workforce Matron leading and coordinating antenatal services.

Professional Development

My career reflects a consistent progression into leadership roles while maintaining a strong clinical foundation. I maintain my professional development by attending relevant training.

Medico Legal Experience

I accept instructions from both claimant and defendant solicitors and insurers. I have undergone formal training in the medico-legal process and am fully aware of my responsibilities under Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) pertaining to expert witnesses.
