Professional Experience
I qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 2010 and have specialised in adult and children’s physical disability demonstrating specialist clinical knowledge and skills. This includes, but is not limited to: neurological conditions (cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis and cerebrovascular accident), amputees, brachial plexus injuries and orthopaedic injuries.
I currently work in social care and effectively manage a complex case load with a range of conditions and functional abilities including moving and handling assessments in considering single handed care, major adaptations and provision of equipment. Correct and safe use of any equipment is demonstrated to clients, families and formal carers and relevant risk assessments and documentation are completed.
I use my clinical reasoning and problem solving skills to complete in-depth occupational therapy assessments and write comprehensive reports. This involves gathering information, observing function and liaising with professionals and services to support decision making, plan, implement and review intervention. I am an autonomous practitioner with the confidence, competency and initiative to work alone and I am able to work under pressure whilst still delivering a quality service.
Professional Development
I maintain my professional development and HCPC standards by attending relevant training.
Medico Legal Experience
I accept instructions from both claimant and defendant solicitors and insurers. I have undergone formal training in the medico-legal process and am fully aware of my responsibilities under Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) pertaining to expert witnesses.
